SEIC to provide platform to validate homegrown entrepreneurial ideas
SEED Entrepreneurship & Innovation Center (SEIC), a catalyst for innovative entrepreneurial growth and excellence in the Middle East, launches the first batch of the Steve Blank Lean Launchpad course on April 25th, 2015. SEED Entrepreneurship center aims at empowering business executives, start-ups, aspiring entrepreneurs, and university graduates with proven strategies to validate their business ideas. The most innovative business idea stands a chance of receiving an investment of up to 3 million dirhams by the end of the course.
Many start-ups fail by not validating their ideas early on with real-life customers. In order to mitigate that, the Lean launchPad course will help students learn how to search for realistic pain points and unmet needs of their customers. The short course aims to help aspiring entrepreneurs learn how to rapidly develop and test ideas by gathering substantial amounts of customer and marketplace feedback. Towards the end of the course, attendees will have tested and eliminated the possible trial and errors entrepreneurs typically go through and are able to better establish a more validated business model.
“This course has been a game-changer for entrepreneurs in Silicon Valley, and now, globally. It has truly revolutionized the way that business ideas are tested and validated. We are pleased to be launching it in Dubai and are excited for the benefits it will bring to our current and aspiring entrepreneurs,” says Hisham Al Gurg, CEO of SEED Group.
By bringing the Lean LaunchPad class to the Middle East for the first time, SEED Entrepreneurship Center hopes to equip the attendees of the course with the right skill set in contributing to further build a sustainable innovative ecosystem in the UAE.
“One of the popular features of this course is that each team is assigned a mentor to guide and advise them throughout the course. Sometimes all that stands between an entrepreneur who has a great idea and success is sound advice and push in the right direction from those who came and succeeded before them.” Added Hisham.
More than 350 universities worldwide teach the Lean LaunchPad class to their students, 6 of which belong to the top 10 universities in the world including Yale, UC Berkeley, Oxford, Cambridge, and Stanford. The first Lean LaunchPad launching in Dubai will consist of 10 teams of Entrepreneurs, supported by 10 mentors specialised in their fields of expertise.
To attend, entrepreneurs need to apply in teams of 2 to 5 per business idea. The deadline forsubmission of applications is 1st April, 2015. Visit www.seedentrepreneur.com for more information about the course and the 50% registration fee rebate offer
